This is an official Stoa qualifying tournament. Stoa membership is required for families of Senior Varsity students in order to participate. Here is the link to register for 2023-24 Stoa Membership.

Stoa Affiliate Number Requirement: As you Register, be prepared to enter your Stoa "Affiliate Number" that you will find on the Review and Pay page of your 2023–2024 Stoa Registration or in your Stoa Registration confirmation email.

JR/JV EVENTS for ages 6-12

JR/JV Debate

We are offering JR/JV Student Congress. Student Congress is an age-appropriate mock congressional legislative group debate. It is an excellent hands-on learning experience where students debate in a group real life issues as do our federal and state legislators.

The rounds are built to function as a real Congress session where students debate a calendar of bills and resolutions, written by themselves. The entire Congress session or round is led and kept organized by the presiding officer.

Student's speeches in JV Congress are timed with a 3 minute sponsorship speech (1 minute of questioning) and 2 minutes for all Pro & Con speeches. It's a fun group debate experience.
